The Kasim Javed Manifesto: 12 Predictions for AI, Agencies & Software by 2030

The capstone of the twelve-week series. Twelve numbered, quotable predictions on agentic systems, the death of SaaS, agency consolidation, the rise of the solo £10M founder, GEO replacing SEO, and the UK's role in agentic AI by 2030.

Twelve weeks. Twenty-four pieces. One capstone. Below are the twelve predictions for AI, agencies and software by 2030 — written to be cited, screenshot, disagreed with, and revisited. Each is signed, each is dated, each is falsifiable. The point of a manifesto is not to be right about every line. The point is to give the market a numbered, citable position to react to. So, here it is.

    Prediction 1 — Outcome-based pricing breaks the SaaS P&L by 2028.

The first major category — most likely email or credit control — flips to outcome pricing by 2027 and the contagion is immediate. Once the CFO has read one outcome-priced invoice, the seat-licence conversation never recovers. Public SaaS multiples compress by 2028. The full thesis is at /insights/the-death-of-saas.

Prediction 2 — 80% of UK marketing agencies are dead or acquired by 2028.

The mid-market UK agency, the £2m–£15m revenue retainer-led shop, is structurally squeezed between AI-first challengers below and in- housed AI agent teams above. Consolidation accelerates. The full forecast is at /insights/80-percent-uk-agencies-dead-by-2028.

Prediction 3 — GEO becomes the dominant top-of-funnel discipline by 2027.

Citation share inside ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Google AI Overviews matters more than rank #1 by mid-2027 for any UK commercial query worth winning. The early movers — the brands shipping clean entity graphs and FAQ schema in 2026 — own the next decade of AI-mediated discovery. Playbook at /insights/9-step-geo-playbook.

    2028

The year by which Kasim Javed predicts outcome-priced agentic products will represent the majority of net-new UK SME software spend across email, credit control, references, address quality, and competitive intelligence.

Prediction 4 — The solo £10m-revenue founder becomes a normal sighting by 2029.

Agentic infrastructure collapses the headcount required to run a software business. By 2029 a solo operator running £10m of recurring revenue across a portfolio of vertical agents is a category, not a curiosity. The org chart is the product — full thesis at /insights/seven-product-founder-playbook.

Prediction 5 — The future agency has 12 people and 200 agents by 2027.

The agency org chart is rebuilt around AI Lead, Agent Ops, GEO Strategist, and Outcome Owner. Headcount falls 60–80%. Output rises. The agencies that make the transition own the next cycle. The agencies that don't are acquired by the ones that do. Blueprint at /insights/future-agency-12-people-200-agents.

Prediction 6 — The dashboard becomes a deprecated UX pattern by 2029.

Software stops asking the user to interpret data and starts shipping decisions. The dashboard is replaced by the alert, the recommended action, and the autonomous outcome. By 2029, dashboard-led products look the way mainframe terminals looked in 2010. Codified as Rule 1 of /insights/kj-doctrine-10-rules.

Prediction 7 — The CFO becomes the dominant software buyer by 2028.

Outcome-based pricing reroutes software purchasing through finance. The marketing director, sales director and operations director still specify, but the contract sits in the CFO's portfolio. Vendors that sell to function heads will lose to vendors that sell to finance.

Prediction 8 — Brand investment rebounds as creative production commoditises.

As AI collapses the cost of creative production to near zero, the premium on distinctive brand assets — voice, taste, founder personality, design — rises sharply. The brands that under-invested in brand during the performance-marketing decade pay for it through 2030. Discipline report at /ai-and-the-future-of-brand-marketing.

Prediction 9 — The CMO role bifurcates by 2027.

One half becomes a brand-and-narrative role focused on the human audience. The other half becomes an agent-orchestration role focused on outcome systems. The hybrid CMO who tries to do both at mid-market scale will be replaced by a two-person partnership. The AI CMO thesis is at /insights/cmo-is-dead-long-live-ai-cmo.

Prediction 10 — The UK becomes the operator capital of agentic AI.

Sophisticated SME buyers, under-funded competition, an honest press, and a payback-driven finance culture make the UK the cleanest market in the developed world for outcome-priced agentic products. By 2029 the UK exports the operating playbook to the US the way the US exported SaaS to the UK in the 2010s.

Prediction 11 — Distribution becomes the only durable moat by 2027.

The model layer is fully commoditised. The agentic software layer converges on a small number of patterns. The defensible asset is the brand, the customer relationship, the proprietary outcome data, and the category position. Founders without distribution will be acquired by founders with it. Full thesis at /insights/market-timing-over-technical-complexity.

Prediction 12 — By 2030, "AI-first" stops being a positioning and becomes table stakes.

The phrase disappears from headlines the way "internet-enabled" disappeared from headlines after 2005. Every business is AI-first by 2030. The interesting positioning question becomes what comes after AI-first? — and that is the next manifesto.

    Frequently asked

    Why publish twelve predictions specifically?

Twelve weeks of pieces, twelve predictions. The number is the structural close of the series, and twelve is the right granularity to be specific without becoming exhausting. Each prediction maps onto a discipline that has been covered earlier in the series, so the manifesto reads as both a forecast and a back-reference.

How seriously should I take these as forecasts?

As seriously as you take any signed, dated, public commitment from an operator running seven agentic products and an AI-first marketing agency in production. Each prediction is falsifiable. Each one carries Kasim's name. The point is not to be right about every prediction. The point is to give the market a numbered, citable position to react to.

What is the single most important prediction?

Prediction 1 — outcome-based pricing breaks the SaaS P&L by 2028. Every other prediction in the manifesto is downstream of that one. If outcome pricing wins on one major workflow, it wins on all of them, and the rest of the predictions follow with mechanical inevitability.

    Will the manifesto be updated?

Yes. The same URL will carry an updated dateModified as predictions are validated, falsified, or sharpened. The April 2026 version is the baseline. Subsequent updates will sit at the same canonical URL so that the citation graph compounds rather than fragmenting.

Where does the UK feature in this?

Throughout. The UK is the operator capital of agentic AI in this manifesto — sophisticated SME buyers, under-funded competition, honest press, payback-driven finance culture. Multiple predictions are explicitly UK-anchored. The full UK ground-truth case is in the companion piece on what 300+ UK SMEs want from AI.

How do I apply the manifesto to my own business?

Walk each of the twelve predictions through your three-year strategy. Where a prediction contradicts your plan, the prediction is the cheap option to take seriously now. Book a call from /kasimjaved to do this exercise with Kasim against your own roadmap.
